We all know about skin disease acne. This disease occurs due to hair follicles are clogged with dead skin cells and oil from the skin. This skin disease acne is characterized by pimples, oily skin, blackheads or whiteheads, and possible scarring. Acne occurs areas of the skin, where your skin has a high number of oil glands, including the upper part of the chest, face, and back. This disease especially occurs in younger age and the resulting appearance can lead to depression, anxiety and sometimes thoughts of suicide. Now we discuss some symptoms of acne in the skin. The appearance of acne varies with skin color. The risk factor of acne is not conclusively identified other than genetics.

There are four main factors cause acne. 

1. Hair follicles clogged by oil and dead skin cells,
2. Bacteria,
3. Excess oil production and Excess activity of a type of hormone.
4. Another possible cause can be your age, family history, diet, infections, hormones, stress, and certain medications.

Age: Acne can develop in all type of people, but this disease is most common in teenagers or young people under 30 years old. Because their hormones are growing very fast.

Family History: Genetics also plays a role in the development of acne. If your parents had acne even in they’re teenagers then you’re likely to develop it. Too.

Diet: There is no high-quality evidence that can show a clear relationship between acne and diet. Skim milk and carbohydrate-rich-foods may worsen acne. If you are chocolate lover then chocolate is also suspected for the development of acne. Best to eat very healthy like salads and drink a lot of water and avoid sugar, while an healthy lifestyle and food can definitely positively influence the amount of acne.

Infections: The anaerobic bacterial species Propionibacterium acnes contributes to the development of acne. The development of acne can also take place due to environment dust. Your skin directly interacts with the environment especially your face. To avoid this type of infection in your skin you should use skin care products to clean your skin. Antibiotics are only good if you have severe acne, while antibiotics are killing bacteria very effective, however this is only a temporary measure. Better to use topical gels like tretinoin cream like Retin A, Accutane etc…

Hormones: During menstrual cycles and puberty may develop acne. During puberty, an increase in androgens knows as sex hormones cause the skin follicle gland to grow larger and make more oily sebum. There are several hormones have been linked to acne. (androgens testosterone, DHEA and DHT. The use of oral contraceptives also affects sebum production.

Stress:
Stress causes or worsens acne. Stress doesn’t cause acne but worsens your acne. Sometimes you are worried about your pimples and take the stress. Taking the continuous stress can cause your acne worsens as compared before.

Some medication includes drugs having corticosteroids or lithium which can cause acne to get worse. however there are many safe acne gel products out there.
